Although the occultation will occur in Honolulu, Hawaii (city #6), it looks like both D and R will occur on the uneclipsed (not in umbra) part of the Moon there. Los Angeles (city #7) seems to be where the D will occur just outside the edge of the umbra so it will probably be difficult to observe there; for cities south and east of there, conditions will likely be worse with the R impossible due to that and low altitude above the horizon.
