A notice to all those making Presentations at the Annual Meeting: The Annual Meeting page is at: http://occultations.org/community/meetingsconferences/na/na2017/ The best formats for presentations are PowerPoint (PPT) and Adobe (PDF) files. These are easily transmitted by the meeting page software and are easiest for people to download later. Presentations can be sent directly to my email IF they are under 20 Mb. My server (RoadRunner) allows one-time large file downloads, otherwise 10 Mb is the limit. Presentations are usually too large when people use pictures that have not been compressed at all. There is no need to include full resolution images in a presentation. It just makes the file size large. Please try to compress images used in your presentations. Windows Picture Manager allows easy compression to "Document" sized files. If a presentation is larger, it will have to be placed on Google Drive or DropBox. Many should already have rights to upload to the IOTA DropBox folder. If you don't, let me know and I will sign you up. Users can also set up their own accounts (free), upload the files, and then "Share" the file with me. Of course, if a presenter has access to their own server, they can place the file there and send me the link. I will acknowledge receipt of each Presentation as I receive it. That way, the sender will know it came through OK. As I receive them, they will be placed on the dedicated Presentations page for all to download. I will inform the group when that page is available. That page will also serve as a backup for those at the meeting site. A headset with boom microphone is highly recommended for presenters along with a webcam. These connections MUST be tested during the week preceding the meeting so all issues that might arise can be addressed ahead of time. I will post when the meeting site is open for testing. Email (or Share) presentations: Brad Timerson btimerson at rochester dot rr dot com For everyone "attending" the meeting via computer connection: The Annual Meeting page is at: http://occultations.org/community/meetingsconferences/na/na2017/ Here are the details you will need if you plan on "attending" the meeting via a computer connection. To keep bandwidth use to a minimum, only a few people will be allowed to use webcams and microphones. These people include presenters and meeting organizers. Therefore, you will probably not have to worry about access to either. There is a Chat area for questions and comments. If you plan to attend the meeting via the webcast it would be a good idea to test your current computer system to be sure all is working as it should. Those attending the meeting but not presenting will not need a microphone. We will monitor the online chat. If you have a webcam, there may be an opportunity to do introductions and seeing everyone would be a bonus. Click on this link to get started. http://login.meetcheap.com/conference,oltiota No password is required. Just enter your name and tap "OK". You may also have to set Flash permissions. For Moderators, your moderator access link will automatically enter your assigned user name and password. Wait for the system to self-install and then select Allow to begin. The first time it loads it may take a few minutes. Be patient. Subsequent loads/starts should be quicker. The conference is open and available anytime a moderator opens the room.
